Over 30 years' experience
We may and must talk about it!
We are well known, for over 30 years, for our expertise and experience with Dental Implants and Oral Rehabilitation. Quality sleep is a key to health and wellness. Sleep disorders and snoring are not only embarrassing and disturbing to others, but too often, snoring is a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea – a serious medical issue that must be related to.
Over the years, we have found, that many people suffer from snoring, sleep disorders and obstructive sleep apnea, but are not aware of it. We also have found that it can be remedied, bringing a quality of life, in a relatively easy, pleasant and swift fashion.
When lying down, the tongue falls back, restricting ones airway. There are three levels of obstructive sleep apnea –
Level 1: 5 – 15 loss of breathing moments per hour
Level 2: 15 – 30 loss of breathing moments per hour
Level 3: 30 – 60 loss of breathing moments per hour
For levels one (mild) and two (moderate) the dental sleep appliance can be as effective as a CPAP machine. For level 3 (severe) many recommend CPAP, the problem being, that many CPAP users do not feel comfortable with it and do not use it, this can be dangerous to one’s health. In such cases, of course, the appliance is a lot better than nothing.

THE DENTAL SLEEP APPLIANCE
A MOST ADVANCED APPLIANCE
A new and advanced treatment for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. An appliance, similar to those used in Orthodontics (tooth straightening), that brings the lower jaw and tongue forward a few millimeters to open the airway. Each one millimeter of advancement, opens the airway 40 – 50 square millimeters! Results are usually immediate.
Treatment is very individual, custom designed. Patience is necessary to choose and adjust the appliance to achieve the best results. There are many appliances, most are quite bulky, uncomfortable and difficult to adjust to.
Our appliance is based on American research and brilliant Israeli technology, designed by our technician, based on our input. It is the smallest, most unique and most comfortable.
We are talking about the simplest most effective treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. This is a relatively instant Dental – Medical solution, instead of surgery or using the CPAP machine, when appropriate. The appliance is designed and fabricated individually, custom-made for each patient. This requires a diligent, exacting process, requiring much expertise and experience. The appliance while small and fine is extremely strong and durable. We are happy to evaluate as to whether this is appropriate for your needs and situation. This is done at no cost, no obligation.

This special dental sleep appliance is recommended only to those evaluated and found to be compatible. It is meant for people who have most of their teeth (original or restored) in good dental health. It can also be designed for implants and/or teeth/dentures connected to implants.
Our appliance is individualized, allowing use even for mouth – breathers (not so for most other appliances). This does make our appliance quite unique. (In the U.S. designs can vary, as many insurance companies dictate parameters of appliances they will cover, sometimes different, from that described above.

HOME SLEEP MONITOR
Today one can sleep test for quality of sleep, snoring and amount of sleep -disturbances per hour; if there is obstructive sleep apnea and to what extent, simply, at no cost, using a home sleep monitor, without waiting for a Sleep Center appointment or the need to go to a Sleep Center. This is done simply, at home, without excessive wires and attachments. Simple, quick, easy. (Contact us for details).
The test is done at home, one or more nights before your meeting with us. The monitor painlessly and conveniently monitors your sleep, without any interference with your sleep, documenting snoring, sleep disturbances and particularly obstructive sleep apnea (non-breathing moments per hour). The results are brought to us for analysis and interpretation. If you are deemed appropriate for a dental sleep appliance, we will help you better understand your options. We can decide together how to proceed and which appliance would be best for you. If you have a sleep test, do bring it with you.
We may then recommend a more thorough test, also done conveniently at home, with another special device that simply fits on your finger (!) that provides additional information that might be necessary, required or useful. This can then be shared with a medical physician for their diagnosis and recommendations.
SLEEP DISTURBANCES AND ITS EFFECT ON HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Snoring and sleep apnea are not only matters of “comfort” or “esthetics”, they are very connected to general health and can significantly affect wellness.
Most people with obstructive sleep apnea are not aware of it and its detrimental effect, aggravating many ailments and syndromes such as high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, acid-reflux and more. Being tired and fatigued upon arising and all day is not only unpleasant but outright dangerous!
It interferes with the ability to function properly, effects concentration and lowers one’s general immunity. The strain on the heart and lack of oxygen absorption can effect bone density (osteoporosis), as well as health and longevity of teeth and implants, including lowering initial and long-term success of dental implants.
More and more research points to a two-way relationship between sleep apnea and different health-wellness issues.
